Hi LSS Class 1973,

Trust all are well and ready to face the PRU-13 on Sunday. Good luck to all of you whatever your political leanings.

Anyway a good news story. My wife and I managed to catch up with our old school teacher Mrs Holmes. This is the first time meeting her after 40 years!!! It was also the first time I found out that her name is Yvonne. It was a bit uncomfortable addressing her as such so I stuck with Mrs Holmes. I remembered in the past it was Mrs R. Holmes, with "R" referring to Richard, who has since passed on.

Mrs Holmes has been residing in Perth for many years now and has since retired from teaching. In the last one year she moved to a retirement home, details as follows:-

Little Sisters of the Poor
2 Rawlins Street,
Glendalough, Perth
Western Australia
Tel: - + 61 8 9443 3155

She is still of sharp mind with good pleasant memories of her life and teaching career especially in LSS. Mrs Holmes will be 91 years old this August. She maintains a relaxed but fulfilling lifestyle in the home, enjoying friendships and activities with other residents. She takes pride in being the lead pikelets baker for the residents.

Mrs Holmes is well supported and looked after by her two sons and daughter (and their families) who live in Perth. She is also a proud great grandmother and family pictures adorn the walls in her room.

I gave her copies of pictures (courtesy of Robin) and these brought back fond memories and a smile to her face. She was excited to hear of your last reunion dinner. I passed on all your good wishes and regards.I hope some of you are able to visit her in Perth. She would be delighted to meet you and share some happy memories.

Mrs Holmes asked me to pass on her warmest wishes and fond regards to all of you. She really enjoyed her time spent with us in LSS.

Following are some pics of our visit.

Cheers and regards
