Welcome, Boon Lye...

Welcome Home, albeit for a short visit, Boon Lye

I don't know if you remember me but here are my best wishes. Sorry, I already have been committed to another engagement which I cannot extricate myself from. Let's keep in touch and please drop me an email at kh.khlim@gmail.com.
Perhaps, you can drop me an email with your current itinerary so that "old guys" who want to meet up with you can look for alternative slots.
Would be good if you can offer some "windows" and I'll post it on the blog.

LCM: Can you please pass this message to Boon Lye?

Cheers

9 August 08 Dinner @7.30pm

Guys! Tan Boon Lai is back from the USA to God's Chosen Land for a brief visit. Let's hear from this ChinaMan the reasons why he neglected us and went to a complicated nation.

It's a great opportunity to meet again. This time try to catch hold of those who missed our Maiden Event at Heroes Cafe.

Dinner is fixed on 9th Aug 08 at 7.30pm SHARP at the PJ Seafood (just about 100 meters from the Tropicana Golf & Country Resort). If you come from Damansara / PJ / Kayu Ara on the NKVE highway, go under the Bandar Utama bridge (keep extreme left) towards the Damansara Toll BUT ....... turn into the slip road (left) immediately after going under the bridge follow the road signs towards Tropicana Golf & Country Resort. You will come to a T-Junction, turn Right and head towards a set of faulty traffic lights, go straight, pass a Tunnel and turn left immediately after the tunnel. You have reached your Destination! (The PJ Seafood is on a little hill and Tropicana Golf & Country Resort is 100 meters from the tunnel)

Bring Your Own Drinks!!! But we shall all share like before. With Harvin safe and sound in Queensland, we shall have more to drink. Somebody must ensure that Yap Kean Seng comes cos he was the Mother of Liqueur Providers during that great nite at Robin's. He was also Great Fun to have around with wonderful African and Mexican promises but we all wondered if there was any truth in them!! And, also get our Boss Teacher Bernand! He will teach us Drinking and Blogging Skills.

Yes, it's a Saturday Nite!! So, get your wife's or girlfriend's permission. If you can't convince her, then bring her please!!

Let's Make It Big!

Hi Chaps,

Let's call whoever you are in contact with and inform him/them about 1st July. We must make this meet a big one.

It's nice feeling to be in touch again after these years.

We now have Harwin, Robin, Eugene, LKH, PC Khan, Sai Moon and LCM confirmed.

Can we double that number? I left word for Pritipal Singh (GM Operations, Pan Pacific KL) to contact me. Eugene is trying Ang Kim Hun. And, he will get Cletus and Father Bear.

Robin knows where How Chik Loke operates his Hardware shop from so we must get him, OK?

I called Abdul Rahim (0162515816) but he is in JB mostly. I will try him again.

Anyone wife coming??

Warm regards.

LCM

Whatever happened to Derek J. Scully?

Dear LSS73-ers,
Since one of the first LSS73-er who responded is from Down Under, I wish to try for this: Does anyone know whatever happened to our English teacher, Derek J. Scully?
Last I heard, he was in Blacktown near Sydney.
Would be great to get in touch with him. I had actually tried several times in the past 20 years but in vain. He is one of the teachers to whom I owe a great deal.
I even tried a former colleague, Nick Soon, who was a journalist in Blacktown area.
Help!

Cheers

Away and almost missed the action

Dear LSS73 guys
I've just been away for the weekend and I almost missed the action.

(It's a surprise that the "fierce" Bernard Khoo has found out about this blog and found the time to comment. I was under the impression that socio-politico blogger that he is now (aka Zorro Unmasked) would have a lot of other stuff to keep him busy. Anyway, thank you, Mr Bernard Khoo, SIR!
I was never in your class but whoever passing through LSS has not heard of Bernard Khoo? Like I commented on your blog when you first "unmasked" yourself, I was formerly a pupil of your wife, Karen -- Best regards again to her, Sir!)

To the other LSS73-ers,
Please note that if your email is listed on the blog itself, you can post directly so your role is not limited to only comments. Also, please bear in mind that even though we are "old friends", there must be still some decorum in blog posts. Try to limit your "friendly abuses" to personal emails and not blog posts.
Those who want to be able to post, please drop me a line with your name, class, a brief description of yourself and your email.
BTW: LCM shall I change your blogging email to the gmail that you offered in one of your posts?

Cheers

Minny Speaks!

Oi Minny

What load of rubbish are you talking about?

Who calls who when in Melbourne?? You just happened to hit one small insignificant email to me and you expect me to be on call for you? Waddaman?

Its nice to see in the blog. Contribute your wisdom there la. I hope to be back to Melbourne in August. We have to meet this time around and get intimate otherwise this mobile chating and now emailing are not as good.

Take care Sir Minny.

Hello Doc,

What man - you don't even respond to my email. I know I am not as popular as Jack but I am still your Sentul kaki.

I know that in Melbourne you live in the area - like you said where all the shit goes to - now that does not mean you have to turn out to be one too??

LSS73 is a great idea and I was the first foreign LSS73 to get involved.

When you come next we have to catch up - otherwise I will tell my second in command Mohamad Sabeer Dawood to pull out of kolej unistate.

Cheers

Amarjeet

Hi Gang! Lets get connected!

PR Guru LIM KIM HUAT! Thanks for fixing this up! You are wonderful.

Its me LCM - Leong Chin Mong. The 4 of us had a great time that nite when we met for dinner at Sentul Raya. Some may remember that my Good Dad had a plastic factory along Haji Salleh. We could see the flat that housed my late Dad's factory from where we had our dinner. Fond memories - we challenged each other to name 10 of our LLS classmates and boy, we all did well. Michael Ambrose who couldn't make it for the dinner kindly called us and had a chat over the mobile and greeted each one of us.

We hope that we can all make it to the next social. Robin (as usual our Leader) has offered his Cafeteria in Wangsa Maju for our next meet. He shall be posting the details soonest.

I have been in the education and training biz for far too long and know nothing else apart from that industry.

Hey Harwin, I go to Melbourne 2 / 3 times a year to keep my PR alive. Harjit Jack Singh and Amarjeet are both there keeping our LSS73 flag up proudly. Jack is CPA and Amarjeet is a IT Chief, both doing extremely well.

I have these contacts for you guys: Jack 0061408804448 / Amarjeet 0061413659448. Yap Kean Seng is big time MAS Cabin Boss 006012-3205762. He did try to make it for the dinner that nite but was able to come back in time. Yap Chee Hwa 0060122121638 handles finance for a telephony company.

Abdul Rahim runs the Sentul supermarket. I shall have his telephone number within the next few days. Does any one know where Tan Boon Lai is? The last I heard, he was in the USA.

An appeal to all - please meet up! We will have a real fun time hitting out at each other.

Take care, buddies!

Greetings from Down Under !!!!!!

Hello There Fellow Classmates from LSS Year '73.

What an excellent idea to have this blog !

It will be great to catch up with the ol' boys next time I am visiting KL (hopefully July). To fill in the blanks and hopefully rekindle memories I am Harwinderjit (Harwin for short). I was in LSS from 1966 (Mr Anthonysamy's class) to 1973 (Mr Bernard Khoo).

BTW don't forget to visit Bernard's blog (for those who don't know) - Zorro Unmasked. He is a very passionate and energetic blogger plus he hasnt lost his witty humour and pointed barbs (when required).

Post LSS I went To Maxwell from 1974 to 1975, followed by a 5 year stint in UTM doing B.Eng (Electrical). From 1981 to 1983 I worked in Telekom. Left govt service to join Uniphone / Sumitomo JV. I also worked for Sumitomo for 2 years based in Bangkok until 1988.

In between that time got married to wife Ajit in 1985 and we have two sons Amar and Aghi. We migrated to Australia in Dec 1988 and now live in Brisbane, Queensland. Anyone who visits Australia, please drop by Brisbane and say G'Day.

I now run my own project mgt firm providing services in mainly infrastructure construction projects - mostly rail and power projects. Ajit keeps busy in her medical practice and the boys who are 22 and 21 are in their final year in Uni. Amar is doing business with health mgt and Aghi is doing accounting.

Cheers and do feel free to email me or post on this blog. Till next time - ciao

Make this OUR blog

Hi LSS73 guys,
It's great that even without any effort, this blog has attracted the attention of an LSS73 guy from Australia.
Now this gives me an idea to make this a real open LSS73 Community blog. Amarjeet and others, please drop me an email at kh.khlim@gmail.com so I can register your email addresses as blog authors.
This means you can create postings instead of just adding to my postings through comments.

Cmon guys, let's make this work and this blog can be a great virtual meeting place for us to reminisce and network.

Cheers

Calling all La Salle Sentul Class of 1973

Folks! Tonight history was made. I just returned from a long chat with Robinson Rodriguez, Leong Chin Mong (now Dr Thomas Leong) and Sai Moon at a table outside a Sentul Boulevard Restaurant, not too far from our old Alma Mater.
As we are pushing 50 (some just over, others coming to), we thought it's about time we keep in touch with people who shared our younger years. We are trying to meet up regularly, at least once a month.
Tonight's small makan was organised by Robin and LCM and we got a grand total of four. That's because Phua Cheng Khan, Micheal Ambrose, Eugene Fernandez and a few others could not make it.
We thought of starting a newsgroup but I think a blog is a better choice. With a blog, you can read it from anywhere in the world. With a newsgroup, you have to get it via email. And blogs can be tweaked in such a way, we can be alerted anyway.
So this is my maiden effort. I am waiting for more stuff from Robin before we spread the word further afield.
We are looking for people like Lu Loy Kuan, Teng Chai, Cheong Shih Kian, Ranjit Singh, Clement De Cruz, "George Best", Aubrey Ohara, Pritipal Singh, Leong Kin Chee, Aloysius Pereira and many more....
They can be anyone from Form 3A1, 3A2 or 3A3.....
Cheers
